About "Great War's Finest"

Due out in 2016, "Great War's Finest: A Study Of The Central Power's Air Services" covers the strategic and operational history of the air war on all fronts for Imperial Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria & The Ottoman Empire.

Using thousands of never before used/translated primary source materials from archives all around the world, "Great War's Finest" aims to be the most detailed and complete history of the Central Power's Air Services ever published.

Whereas most books on the Great War's "war in the air" only cover aces, fighter pilots or fighter squadrons, "Great War's Finest" explores the air war "as a whole" by illustrating how the air service operated as a combined force and how it's actions directly impacted the army and the war on the ground. To accomplish this, the reader is presented with both a narrative of the air service's actions as well as a detailed description of the various battles and campaigns waged by the ground forces. With full knowledge of how the war in the trenches was progressing, "Great War's Finest" is able to give the reader a better understanding of how the air war was fought and how it impacted the course of the war.

Originally intended to be a single 500 page book, the author made the decision during the early stages of writing to make "Great War's Finest" into a multi volume series, with each volume no less than 300 pages or 100 thousand words. The first volume: "Western Front 1914" is set for completion Summer/Fall 2016.

With a length of 150 thousand words, Volume 1 will have highly detailed chapters that cover: 1)Prewar German aviation, 2)Mobilization & The Battle of The Frontiers, 3) Battle of the Marne, 4)Race to the Sea, 5)1st Ypres, 6)Creation of the BAO "Carrier Pigeons", & 7)Changes In Organization & Aircraft Production During The Winter of 1914/15. This will be the first book in any language that studies the operational role of the Fliegertruppe during the first year of the war and how aerial reconaissance truly impacted the war's first battles.

In addition to the text, each volume will have 100+ photos, 20+ color profiles, dozens of original maps, and countless: organizational charts, orders of battle, tactical diagrams and much more!!!
